Jay Songcharoen, MD
Dr. Jay Songcharoen is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with fellowship training in hand surgery. He is the founder of The Plastic Surgery Clinic, a modern, patient-centered practice built on the principles of purpose, integrity, and authenticity.
Raised in Mississippi as an American-born Thai-Chinese, Dr. Songcharoen grew up in a family of physicians who modeled discipline, compassion, and lifelong dedication to medicine. After graduating from St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, he studied Physics and Mathematics at Vanderbilt University, earned his Master of Medical Science from Mississippi College, and completed both his Plastic Surgery residency and Hand Surgery fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Dr. Songcharoen approaches surgery as both science and art — a pursuit of restoration and balance between form and function, not only in the physical sense but also in how patients feel within themselves. Whether reconstructing complex injuries or performing aesthetic procedures, his goal is to help each person move, live, and see themselves with greater ease and confidence. His patients value his honesty, calm presence, and the depth of thought he brings to every decision.
The Plastic Surgery Clinic was created to offer more than surgical outcomes — it represents a complete care experience. Every touchpoint, from the environment to the team interaction, reflects the same guiding philosophy: patients should feel seen, understood, and cared for at every stage. The practice is built on systems and values that ensure consistency, empathy, and excellence.
Outside of surgery, Dr. Songcharoen is a devoted husband to Dr. Sharon Hong, a rheumatologist, and father to two children, Lincoln and Skye. He is also a lifelong student of craft, drawn to music, cooking, cars, and photography — pursuits that mirror his fascination with design, detail, and the relationship between structure and emotion.
Dr. Songcharoen’s guiding philosophy is simple: purpose in work, integrity in action, and authenticity in care.
